Slept soundly last night after making sure the mosquito netting was tucked in securely all around our bed. Read a little before falling asleep from "Say you're one of them" by Uwem Akpan, a collection of stories of children in Africa. loaned to me by a friend at Clark County Public Health who lived in Kenya for 6 mos a few years ago. Noticed yesterday I'm feeling more comfortable & less overwhelmed by the all the differences I'm experiencing here-language, culture, poverty being 3 of the biggest differences. This morning we go to Bware where I don't know if we'll have electricity, so wanted to post a few more photos, especially of our housing & the 2 hospitals we've visited here in Migori. Will try to post more of Bware when I have another chance.
Thank you for the pics, glad to see where you are. It's also good to hear that you're getting over feeling overwhelmed by it all.
ReplyDeleteJambo James and Kate,
ReplyDeleteWonderful to read about and see pictures of your Kenya experiences. Admire you both for donating your time and expertise to such a worthy cause. Makes me want to return to that beautiful part of the world.
